A Day Trip to Delphi departing from Athens, exploring one of the most famous archaeological sites of Greece. Delphi is in the heart of Phocis, therefore you will have the opportunity to see the scenic root of central Greece and pass by Thiva the birthplace of Oedipus.
The tour continues towards Mount Parnassos and a stop over at the town of Levadia. Then we will continue our trip to Delphi. The tour includes a stop at the Castalia springs, a visit to the archaeological site and the monuments of the Argive Kings, the treasury of the Athenians, the Athenian Archade, the Temple of Apollo and of course the Museum of Delphi, which includes exhibits such as the frieze of the Treasury of Sifnos, the Sphinx of Naxos, the statue of Antinoos, the metopes of the Athenian treasury, the Charioteer. This famous bronze sculpture of the Charioteer was created to commemorate the victory at the Pythian Game in 476 B.C. On our return we will stop at the beautiful village of Arachova on Mount Parnassos. Ideal stop if you would like to purchase some traditional products such as wine and cheese but also hand-woven rugs and quilts.
